I want to buy a book or a couple of books on analog electronics which provide easy to understand theory and also numericals for practice........the topics are as follows :

Semiconductors physics (diodes and special kind of diodes)

Bipolar junction Transistors (working of BJTs and amplifiers based circuits)

FETs, multistage amplifiers,feedback amplifiers etc

i have checked millmann halkias but it is quite difficult to understand....malvino is good but it is too low level...i want an intermediate level book....please post your reply asap.......:???:

I want a book which provides numerical exercises.......

Design of analog CMOS Integrated Circuits by Razavi is a very good option but in concetrates on CMOS technology. For example diodes are not mentioned.
I would recommend you Sedra Smith book which is more general and with many numerical exercises.

The Art of Electronics, by Paul Horowitz and Winfield Hill, is a popular textbook dealing with analog and digital electronics
The text is information-dense, but uses a light, informal tone which makes it more accessible. At over 1100 pages, it covers virtually all areas of electronics design, from basic DC voltage, current, and resistance, to active filters and oscillators, to digital electronics, including microprocessors and digital bus interfacing. It also includes discussions of such often-neglected areas as high-frequency, high-speed design techniques and low-power applications.

It is very helpful......but please suggest any good book for numerical practice......

i think this book comes with student manual, but honestly i didn't check it! so search for it, it might be helpful
good luck

i want a book which give me ample practice problems......as i'm preparing for some competitive exams.......

Analysis and design of analog integrated circuits by Paul Gray is great.

I would recommend Donald Neamen Electronic Circuit Analysis and Design. Sedra and smith is very good book but it is good as reference book as it contains almost everything. I am preparing for Gate 2011 and am following Neamen for Analog circuits. I hope this will help.

what other books you are reffering for preparation of gate......??
I'm also thinking about to start preparing.....so pls suggest all other books for subjects in electronics........

Well....you can follow any book you like...just dont follow indian publisher books...
