Hello everyone,

The title pretty much summarizes it. I'm trying to obtain a vectorized (ideally) image of the schematic I created to place it in my thesis. I don't simply want to use print screen because the quality doesn't look too good (fuzzy on the edges, etc).

Has anyone figured out a solution?

I also have lots that I'd like to get the raw data from, if possible.

hey I would also like to know how to get vectorized (ideally) image of the schematic in pspice!!!

The only way to get nice images from those programs is to install a pdf printer software (are a lot for free). After you print the image as pdf you can cut and paste the image.
I am attaching an example from LTspice.

Cut and paste of a pdf image still gives a rasterized representation (e.g. *.gif or *.png). You have to To get a vectorized image,
that can be scaled later on, you need to convert pdf to e.g. wmf with a graphics tool. Another way is to print to postscript and convert
to a portable postscript (eps or ai) format.

Thanks everyone, great idea. I'm trying to find a free PDF to WMF converter - does anyone know of a good one? Alternatively, does anyone know if it can be done with Photoshop (I can't figure out how yet, if even possible).

Thanks

I'm not aware of vector graphics capabilities of photoshop. I know, that Freehand can do the conversion, I would also expect e.g. CorelDraw to be able to.

Cut and paste of a pdf will not degrade the definition of your image at all, if before making the pdf file you chose for maximum picture resolution in printer setup (lowest image compression). Generally pdf maker programs are set by default for medium resolution.

I am doing this method tens of time per day for programs which doesn't allow to save nicely a picture. The best example is the one posted above made from LTspice.

Try to find pdfFactory, is one of the best.

Use Xcircuit for such uses.
It gives you a postscript output which is of the highest quality
suitable for thesis and publication.

Tools -> "Write to a .wmf file" should do the trick.

This option is available in LTSpice v4.07 - I don't know about earlier versions
