I am finding circuit diagram +software + pcb of a universal usb microcontroller which works with most of the microcontrollers available.

i am finding a universal programmer which works with both most of the series of atmeland pic and and has also a usb interface.

I strongly recommend you to use MC manufacturing companies tools if you are a developer. Because most of the programmers other than MC companies will no allow debugging.

If you want a programmer to program boath AVRs and PICs(16 series) ponnyprog200 is free and simple one. But you need a usb to serial cable if you want to use USB.

Good Luck

I have tried the prolific usb to serial conveteer on my laptop with the JDM programmer. No succes. So I made my own USB programmer with a PIC16F877A ( DKU 5 USB to serial conveter), developed the software in VB.

plz share with us, USB to serial convertor for programmers is not a good idea as it does not work or gives bugs.

Not all USB to Serial Converters are created equal.
Try to find one whose driver will allow you to change latency.
I have found those based on the FTDO chipset to be of good quality.

I have tried 3 usb to serial converters and failed. I havnt heard that any one found successful in using a converter for JDM programmer

Me too, tried many. But finally I found a working one from a local shop and it works fine for my old serial PIC programmer, Ponnyprog etc.

Result is always success :D

search for 'usbasp'. you will get the PCB and software required...

But i think its for AVR micro controllers only...

Anyway its a very good burner... :D

You can use PicKit2 as a AVR programmer....
Ref. this link for more.
I tried it with Atmega16,Atmega8635 etc... It works fine for me.

I think it is the lowest price Universal Programmer (PIC,EEPROMs and AVR).
