pmask rogramable cpld

First of all, please forgive my poor English.
My question is: What is mask-programmable equivalent to the CPLD if there is one at all? By that, I mean analogy between HAL and PAL/GAL or MPGA and FPGA. Does CPLD necessary mean field-programmable device?
Thank you for your time
