how to become hardware design

Hi all

I have been working for last 4 years as PCB layout Design Engineer, i want to become hardware design Engineer , right now i working as PCB layout and the company in which i am working made its product on VOIP so can any body tell me how can i become a hardware design professional.

always should check out chip datasheets & technical documents & read the books about hardware structure in digital & analog circuit

Hi as a hardware design engineer really took time to learn just like being PCB layout engineer. If you want to design diagrams, debug certain error. You should first try to imagine what an output of VOIP would be, what are its target clients, what would be the risk of designing this and that, because in that way you can imagine how to design VoIP that is cost effective and works without bugs....

attention there are some section in hardware designing (like analog - digital - fpga- networking- wireless & etc )
which one U want to go on ?
 

Hi I want to go in VoIP domain in which both analog and digital hardware designing concept is used and some time RF designing concept will also used so Could you provide some books those carrying concept of these kind of circuitry .
