advantages of rtos
Hi All,
Any thoughts on "suitability" of just using plain Linux for RTOS type applications by using "kernel workqueues" ?
See:
https://www.linuxjournal.com/article/8476
>>Conclusion
>>This project is a success story for the Linux 2.6 kernel. It demonstrates that a
>>complex, real-time process control application can be created using a kernel
>>workqueue instead of a complicated hardware interrupt or an additional,
>> real-time package like RTLinux.
* Is the author's approach above "novel/original" or has it been tried before?
* Any advantage to using OS's designed for real-time like RTLinux or others ?
Would appreciate some feedback...
Thanks
