minor project in VXworks

vxworks projects

i want to take up a small assignment in Vxworks....
maybe an email apllication or a ticket reservation....
can anyone please post an idea of explaining me the logic on how to go about it?????

Excuse Me ! will u pls tell me which board u r going to use ?
If you want to do it via Wireless or ethernet go for the details of the drivers of ethernet and the TCP/IP comm protocol .
 

socket programming in vxworks

had no idea with this actually........ was doing a course and it was a an assignment........

vxworks support +login +user

Hey man ! .......

vxworks is the RTOS system designing software man ... where u can develop Device Drivers , Board support packages , u can modify and develop Kernel modules , or you can simply go for application specific tasks .....

As u thought of ticket reservation ...it should be hard system where some minute change in time can create problems ....
so u have to know about wireless connectivity of ur system, the ethernet connection(driver details) of the board u r using , u have to write some application codes to communicate from one many clients to a single server
and you have to use socket programming where Broadcasting facility you have to be mastered with .....

so please be specific that what type of help do u want from us ...... [:)]

Wow!!!!! that was some information i wasn't aware about..........
can you PLEASE suggest me some small project which i can take up to know the lang better.........

vxworks project

Hey Dude ... don't be upset ..... I was also unware of these when I first put my hands on vxWorks ...
tell me one thing that do you want to use some subsidiary peripherals and actually I need some information in which u want to make ur first approach ...
better u can go for the simple C coding in workspaces and try it in vxworks development simulator to just see how it reacts ....
simply it is not tough ...but it needs the exact BSP for ur boards device drivers ... so be definite for ur board and use simple "HELLO" program to execute it in that board ...
I am sure u will find it very easy ...man ...
Then u can go for some intelligent system designing ...say tap out converter btween two different type of communicator devices....
If u need anytype of help ....we r there top help you .... [:D]

as I am using vxworks using Windriver workbench .... this is the application programmers reference manual ....very useful to know abt the APIs.
