electronics bachelor project

Please help! I left my bachelor degree project for the last moment and I really need to get started soon, but still have no idea what to do. This guy is not serious, you might say. But my first ideea was rejected by the guiding teacher, and since then I kept postponing it and... here I am, with no idea. All I can say is that it has to do with microcontrollers, and I would like it to be something that hasn't been done a million times before. Any idea, and I mean ANY, is welcomed.

bachelor project 2004

here is some ideas a queuing management system like q-matic, ir receiver, a moving sign circuit which is done by one microcontroller, a wireless thermometer (for example: to see outside temperature without cable).

well these are the projects coming my mind right now but you can look to circuit cellar magazine. it's really a good fountain for electronic projects.

Other good source for electronics project are Elektor electronics magazine...

check in: www.elektor-electronics.co.uk

About your question, You can try the following projects:
- Data collector with USB or IRDA interface
- TCP/IP litle stack (for automation purposes)
- Residential alarm (good project because of the "net" )
etc...
Good Lucky!

good project bachelor in java

Dear Z80,

Most important in a bachelor project is to learn for the future, not to impress the comision

Some advices:

Take a litle project, with few hardware components, but based on new technologies.

The project must include a new flash microcontroler or DSP.
The project MUST include a litle comunication software with the PC (via RS232,USB, TCPIP etc).

The comunication software MUST be written in a modern programming language (example C#,Java)

My proposal is to make an osciloscope on the PC.
For example, try to make a board that will comunicate the value af an ADC (the ADC is usualy embedded in uC or DSP) when requested by PC.
Then display the values into in a graphic form (on PC).

Good look!!!

it good project bachelor

Electronic weighing scale using a load cell is a good idea seems to me.
search here for some idea. using ICL7135 and you can download application note from intersil.com
good luck

ideas for bachelor project

You can try the ARM family like LPC21xx philips. Good work maybe a MP3 decoder, or video terminal application with network!

I am in the fifth year at a Electronics Engineering Computer Science faculty. I have skills in C/C++ programming, microcontroller use, some knowledge of DSP algorithms. My initial intention was to combine these 3, but the guiding teacher didn't like that too much. I guess that he wanted to keep it simple, avoid any complications. And I wasn't too happy about he rejecting my ideea. I was planning to do some elementary speech recognition, but using a powerfull uC, not a DSP, for instance dsPICs. All my colleagues that are into "hardware" stuff, make electronic thermometers, or multimeters, and other simple things. I really don't like such things, because they are too simple, and you really don't learn much by doing them. For instance I made a working remotelly controlled light dimmer, powered directly form power line, using a single PIC12F629 uC, and a few extra components, from ground-up, using only the datasheets for the components, in about 1 week. Some thought that was tough...
I'm not a genius or anything but I don't like routine stuff, I like to lear something new. I know that this kind of project requires some work, but I'm not afraid of it. I'm just afraid that some teachers want to see a PIC that blinks a LED, and that makes them happy.
I thought once about making a remotelly controlled FM radio, with frequency display, using for instance, Philips' TDA7000 and a PIC uC. But that's again a problem. I actually had a quarrel with a teacher about the use of analog electronics in digital designs. He is against anything that's analog, and he's also a member of the evaluation comission That plainly sucks.
The perfect project for me would be one that incorporates a uC, maybe more than one for some parallel processing, some signal processing, some PC link, IRDA, USB, maybe a remote controller, data acquisition, some elementary analog electronics... I guess that's too much for just one project.

bachelor projects ideas

Hi Z80!
It's possible Your send-me the Your dimmer project using the PIC12Fxxx?
I woul like much...
Thanks a lot!

Gorkin!

best bechelor projects in electronics

What about making a PC based Oscilloscope and /or Logic Analyzer communicating via USB 2.0 or FireWire.
Of course if uyou make an oscilloscope it contains some analog circuits as well, but if make a logic analyzer it doesn't contain that much analog circuits.
Maybe not the most original idea, but there are not that many good and fast USB 2.0 or FireWire based PC-oscillopes and logic analyzers at the market today.

I'll bring the files from home, gorkin. Don't expect perfection though, I just said it works, not "it's perfect" :)

electronics project for batchelor

No problem Mr. Z80... :D
The most important its the idea around the circuit aspects (topology)!
I will waiting!
Thanks a Lot, Gorkin!

projects display at90s8535 keyboard of rojo

hi,
you you can select a digital pid controller for a dc motor.
for this you must firstly select your motor ,after calculate the characteristic equation ( H(s) ) and a controller for that( k(s) ).
finally implement the k(s) with a microcontroller or dsp based system.
in this project you will use a tachogenerator for sensing velocity,an adc , a dac , and some ttl ic's.
you can assign some inputs for changing the pid factors online.
this will be a complete inverter.
i hope this help you.
good luck.

pic12f629 light dimmer circuit

To add to what is_razi said, you could also implement an autotuning pid controller. A simple manual tuned controller is no big deal and may not get you good grades for the degree!!

Also, a project on the ARM controller would be nice. I really think ARM is the platform for future.

elector electronics 2004-11

hello mr z80 , maybe you would be interested in my
led moving message display (see it in this forum at **broken link removed** ) connected to at90s8535 flash controller and
PC keyboard and LCD, pretty neat , you could maybe expand on it, making it wireless for example, software is not to complicated , written in C, i also have a small non-preemptive operating system for it, if youre interested send me private message :)) its all digital stuff just as your
teachers like it :))

Re: Urgent! Please help with an idea for a bachelor project!

HI :) for my bachelor degree project i will make a finger recognition system using DSP from TI and some finger chip. My teacher give me the idea, and i think it's quite good for a project.
