learning vxworks

Hi
Has anyone experience with VxWorks real-time operating system?
I'm interested in learning it.Can anyone tell me where should I start from and give any useful references and links to related stuff?

vxworks trial version

Programing for VxWorks is similar to programing for any other Os
how ever , VxWorks gives you set of system API's which helps in writting Real Time application much easier.

if you know good C and threading(Posix) then, I would say it is pretty simple to work on VXworks,

Yes there are lots of features provided my the OS to help you in writting Real Time Code and also Analyzing the code .etc

Some Trial version should be avilable on the Windriver web site. download and do some simple stuff like

1) Hello World
2) Hello World with threads
3) then Move on the RAM disk drivers , look for Google to grab some RAM disk driver code and port it to VxWorks

that's it friend, if looking for any thing specific let me know

how to close port 23 on vxworks

For application level programming u can get the help from the attached book as this is the user application programming manual ....
