Hi, I am wondering in the microwave frequencies, what is the difference between gold plated and nickel plated? Does gold plated have less conductive loss?

Thanks.

Yes gold has less loss. The problem is that gold plating is not very thick and usually requires a nickel barrier so it really does not get you much except for corrosion resistance. If you really want to quantify your loss you must know your skin depth and plating process.
