Re: library

hi santum

TSMC90LP

TSMC is a fablab [Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company's (TSMC's)]
90 stand for the 90 nm technology
LP means low power

but i m unaware of GP

kindly get it confirmed

regards
natg

library

GP is the generic process. At TSMC you might also see LV, which is low voltage.

Re: library

hi jbeniston

thanks for the info
but can u elaborate more on GP??

that would be complete knowledge

Re: library

HI,

As per my knowledge,
LP is low power only.

But GP is General Purpose, i.e the cells are characterized with general process and the dely and leakage are moderate. For LP the cell leakage is quite low compared to GP as LP is specifically made for low power designs.

Hope it will help you.

Thanks.

HAK.

Those are just names that TSMC gives to its standard cell libraries.

Kind of like how Intel calls its x86_64 CPUs "Core 2 Duo", and AMD uses the name "AMD Phenom, Turion" for its x86_64 product-line.

As other people have already said, LP means 'low power', GP means 'general purpose'. 90= 90nm process-node, 130 = 130nm (0.13u) process-node.

library

These are mostly explained on TSMC's technology pages.
