pll simulation eldo mentor

Hi,

How to simulate for jitter on PLL using eldo Mentor Graphic?? How to add noise on the data input?? If I not mistaken, we can't add noise on transient analysis. Maybe you can show the commands ??

Thanks,

You can generate a jittery input signal by using matlab and then import this signal into eldo.

To generate a time-domain jittered signal, you can define a random variable ( using randn ) with a zero mean and a unity standard deviation and multiply it by the standard deviation you want to specify. Then you simply modify the clock's edge by this variable

you can use a .noise to inject noise at your data and do a .NOISETRAN simulation to display the results
