double click circuit

Hi

This is my first post here, i hope it's in the correct section :) I've been searching on google and various forums and have not yet found anything on this!

Well what i'm after is a circuit that outputs a signal (preferably active low) only when a quick pattern of two lows (a double-click) is recieved at it's input.

I'd also like to be able to adjust the period of the pulses and the period in between pulses, or basically, i want to be able to set the speed of the required double-click.

If anything other than the set double click is recieved on the input, then the output should not change.

The required circuit is basically an electronic switch that performs the same way as having to double-click a mouse.

Thanks for reading :)

double click switch circuit design

seems to me, no microcontrller use.
u can do it with combination of timer/counter,or other logical circuit.

double 555 switch

Thanks for that!

How about, using a 555 timer, that on the first click of my switch starts counting and makes a single pulse after a set time. I can use vr's so i can tweak the timing of this pulse the way i want it. I then have an NAND gate, that takes in the output of the 555 circuit and the second click of my switch, so that if the double click is timed correctly, the output of the NAND will be low, otherwise the output of the NAND will still be high.

Does this sound good guys?

The one problem i have is that i want it to be open circuit, instead of being high when there is no double click. Should i be using something else instead of a NAND or should i put something after the NAND, like a little transistor circuit?

double click switch circuit

Typical sequential circuit design. Use a counter and AND gate.

Otherwise use a uC for programmable delay.

double clock circut

ya thts nice to hear.if ur purpose is switching, use relay switch. make a relay on/off by High of ur NAND.

double-click circuit

I'm thinking to use a transistor switch circuit after the nand - i don't want to use a relay cos of the noise & the whole mechanical reliability thing. Since i'm using a transistor switch at the end, i'll probably end up using an AND instead of NAND.

Thanks again for the guidance :)

circuit to double click

try electronic switch use JK flip flop togle circuit to drive darlington transistor aray ULN2004,from that u can use as a transistor switch which can drive scr, triac or relay.
