Noise

Can somebody help me ..
what is the meaning of first line and how and what kind of noise is generated

No=1/(exp(EbNo*log(10)/10))

Tx_signal=bpskMod+sqrt(No/2)*randn(1000,1)

sometimes I see

sigma=Engy_of_signal/sqrt(2*SNR)

how is it calculated...

please answer one if not possible for all ..

THankyou so much.

Re: Noise

You are generating gaussian noise of standard deviation No.

Hope this helps.
