hi,
i once saw phd's thesis about giga-hz AD used for uwb. i think you can find it from lab publication in UCB.

Sansen and Styart's paper

M. Steyaert, and W. Sansen, "A 1.8-V 6-bit flash ADC with rail-to-rail input range in 0.18um CMOS,"

is a good starting point .. and also you can check the review
