hi
you are right ,
single tap channel means that the channel only introduces a delay and an attenuation (single path)to the transmitted signal and it is not frequency selective( multipath) .

Re: single tap channel

Totally wrong!

single tap still means u receive signals from a lot of path!!

The receiver get a lot of signals from different paths, but all they come at the same
time, so the signal do not suffer frequency selevtive fading!!

that's the insight of single tap model of fading channel!

Any Mistake plz correct me!!!

Re: single tap channel

Thank you so much for correcting us and dear one more question how do we know that now any specific channel should be considered as a multi tap channel and how many maximum numbers of tap are required to really model a channel.

Regards.

Re: single tap channel

Thanks!

1, when u want to model the frequency selective channel ,multi tap required!
For flat fading, only single tap needed! Single or multi tap depends on your
symbol interval and channel delay spread

2,how many taps should be considered. Mm ,,the question have no unique answer!
when u model a channel ,u should know the PDP(power delay profile), then u can
get how many taps u shoud use!! By the way, different channel model(eg, COST207) have different PDP .

I hope i can help U! Good Luck!
