What's this?

Hi all,

How to draw this layer? ex. POLY NOT Contact

I got this from the LVS rules file. Someone please shed some light here.

Thanks in advance.

Re: What's this?

It depends on the technology you use, but normally it means a region of POLY that's not interacting with any CONTACTs

Re: What's this?

It's not real physical layer- at least I have never seen any.

Actually, it's just logical layer which helps you to extract netlist or get DRC information from layout, such as, we know that "poly AND active" is MOS channel area, and "active NOT (poly AND active)" is source or drain.

this is just to define a layer in the layer setup in layout tool. example

defination of layerA is

layerA = POLY NOT contact.

so if you draw poly layer it is equal to layerA
