hi,
i have a problem in the installation of matlab 7.0.My system is XP with AMD 3000+ processor. When i run the matlab, it shows the starting window showing "initializing". After that the matlab closes without giving any error and warning.
I do not know why it is happening. If anybody knows, please help me.

Thanks and regards

normally when you are working in a network environment, your server controls the installation rights. If your installation is giving probs due to this reason, you can log in using local administrator mode and then try to install matlab again.

hi,
can anybody please tell me the link to download the ms vm necessary to run the matlab 7.0 !!!!!

thanks

hi guys,

i have installed the ms java virtual machine, even then it,s not working.

please help me.

thanks

Try installing Matlab 6.5 Version and See that does it work or gives the same problem as with ver 7.0 . If 6.5 works on ur PC then increasing RAM should be helpful in running v7.0 on ur system. Normally if RAM is low then v7.0 takes about 1-2 mins to start with 256 Mb Ram and 3 Ghz HT processor

Try to install older version of matlab first ......i had also faced the same problem

the matlab starting files may be corrupted or u may not have the corrupted matlab software..try buying new cd and re install it. or another possibility is that of compatibility but its very rare..

if u get hold of the problem please let me know too...something about the same is given on matlab's site www.mathworks.com...couldn't undertstand it...

Added after 40 minutes:

**broken link removed**
see dis..if u can get hold of it please tell me too...me facing the same problem..the matlab just shuts off itslef

i am facing the same problem....i have 512 mb ram,amd 64 bit 3000+ pc with xp.....please help...need matlab 7 urgently.....similar prob happening wid oder friends havin same confi....also 6.5 works fine

hi,
i have not got any information why it is happeninig so with us. I have tried many thing, but still it is not working.

Try to get rid of all old Matlab installations on your computer, because sometimes matlab behaves strange when you have more than one version installed. Therefore I suggest that you install the operation system again on a second partition on your harddisk and install matlab then afterwards. If this doesn´t work then I would try to install your matlab version on another hardware. So you can find out if your hardware or your software is responsible for the problem. Perhaps you might also have an illegal copy of Matlab and your serial is accepted but not working properly with your version.

1. right-click on "My Computer" and select "Properties".
(Alternatively, go to the control panel and select "System".)
2. Select the "Advanced" tab, then click on the "Environment
Variables" button at the bottom.
3. In the "User variables" section, click on the "New" button, then
enter "BLAS_VERSION" for the name and "atlas_Athlon.dll" for the value.
4. Hit "OK" a couple of times to wrap up.

IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi shameem
I think the problem is because of other softwares on your computer. do you have a clean windows? maybe you need to wash the registry of windows,
I faced this problem last month .
my problem solved when I reinstalled my windows.
my system: ( Athlonxp 2000+ , 512MB RAM , ...).
