how does the algorithm change when the noise isn't WGN ? for example, f(n) = exp(-|n|). can you still use euclidian distance or should you change to something else?
thanks

You still could use Viterbi decoder if the noise is not white, it may be not the best decoder.

the viterbi decoder is desgened to correct errors in the random case , but not in the continues errors
