mimo on ev-do

Hi ,
I heard that if we use MIMo-OFDM in comabination with CDMA 1xEVDO, then we can achieve more data rate.. IS it true. can any one give more explanation reagrding this.

Thanks& reagrds

does evdo use ofdm

m_ratheesh_k,

MIMO-OFDM and CDMA 1xEV-DO are two different technologies although 4G 3GPP2
LTE will probably incorporate MIMO and OFDMA into future CDMA technologies.
"MIMO" - "Multiple Input - Multiple Output" Antenna theory allows for the further use of multpath signal collecting and processing and the use of "OFDMA" will allow for lower intersymbol interference and the advantages of NLOS-"Non Line of Sight" reception.
CDMA data rate speeds are highly dependent on the quality of the signal being used.
A better quality signal will alow for a more robust coding modulation scheme and this will translate into higher data rate speeds.

Hope this helps,
