fourier wavelet restoration

hi

Can you list reasons why wavelet transform is better that Fourier transform for digital image restoration?

help ...

Thanks

FT doesn't give time resolution whereas a wavelet is a compromise in time and frequency resolution
not only for image even for audio also.

Actually FFT can give quite good time resolution, but in this case you will loose frequency resolution. On the contrary if you have a good frequency resolution you will loose the time one (same as the Heisenberg principle).
WT, first is a compromise, second has a different time resolutions for the different frequency band.
