What is the purpose of a matching network in a microstrip patch antenna ?
 

to match the input impedance of the antenna to the impedance of the feeding line , so make sure for maximum power transfer to the antenna

what is meant by the feedling line ?
 

the feeding line , is the microstrip line that is connected to the input point of the antenna
