Hi,

I am a newer to DC-DC and power management circuits, and want to get a fast overview of this area.

So, could anybody give an advice on the typical text books or paper about it?

Any reply will be appreciated!
Thanks!

there's no paper about the transfer function of dc/dc?

if u can get the book - Fundamentals of Power Electronics, it may be helpful for you.

If you are starting with basics Try Power Electronics by P.S Bhimbra
This is the best book for power electroncis, it will help for beginning

Take a look of the 3 "Understanding" paper of TI:

Switching Power Supply Design by Pressman and Switchmode Power Supply Handbok by Billings will be helpful.

Added after 16 minutes:

The Essence of Power Electronics is another good book and this link will be helpful.

If you are interested in implementing a circuit using DC-DC converter,
you can try the following website,

It contains the practical aspect of a DC-DC regulator,
circuits example.
Less of DC-DC theory.

Someone can tell the relevant articles materials or website of digital power management??

Thanks in advance
Best regards,jinsin

Hi every body.
Thanks a lot for your reply.
I'd like to know current mode, voltage mode, vally current mode, etc.
Do you have any information for this paper?

I think you can check some course notes about some good universities, for example:

Here is the book for Erickson:

Fundamentals of Power Electronics

You can get it from:

Two very good books for understandings DC DC Converters and related materials are SWITCH MODE POWER SUPPLY by Marty Brown and other from Kieth Billing, you can found both here in this forum.

Regards

awarapunshee, these are very good sources on how to actually build DC-DC converters.

but to learn the fundamentals i lean towards ericson "fundamentals of power electronics". teaches you step by step how to determine the transfer function (both larger and small signal) for example.

Here is where you can find Marty Brown's book:

Power Supply Cookbook:

Yes Mr.Cool you are right. But I think the person who is looking for only switching power supplies, this book will help him. It also have some intro on power electronics, magnetics etc related to the SMPS. One can find more detail discussion on every aspect of each section (principle) related, from the power books.

Try to build a simple DC-DC converter, see the waveform on scope, build a simple model by yourself, and then start to read book! LM2576 has a very simple structre and take a look at TPS54610.
