A very useful guideline...Thanks guys

Any schematic to design power supply for microcontroller pic one? i am using 16f877a

Re: plz provide me help in designing a switching power suppl

Power supply is not a trivial thing. It can be seriously dangerous.
As the ROHM power supply module does not provide isolation of
lines voltage, the dc output lines are dangerous.
And that may the reason that not many semiconductor companies
offer similar products.
If you want to work on PIC chip, then buy a decent power supply.
If you want to study power supply, study further until you become
comfortable. This way you can avoid killing yourself, or destroying
entire PIC board.
If you are in the middle, I would recommend to use a AC-DC adapter,
for example 9V 1A DC, and use a popular 7805 regulator.

What do you think?
