impedance matching smith chart tool agilent ads

How can I use the Smith Chart Tool in Agilent A.D.S.2005A for matching ?
Can anyone give me the required steps accompined by the theory needed?

Thanks,
Ahmad,

smith chart questions

well i don't think ADS 2005A can be used for matching . i have used it to see the response of the theoritically matched circuits . in case of lumped circuits the matching can be done using the software called MIMP , then the matched circuit can be verified using ADS.

For me, I'm sure 100% that it make it, i also made it, but I found something like auto matching, and i couldn't use it! also for matching itself on ADS, i need to know the true steps to perform..

Ahmad,

automated smith chart, version 4.0

You have to choose "smith tool smart component".

It could be done with microwave office

llsmith impedance

1. Put SmithchartMatching Comp on the schematic
2. Then [TOOLS]->[SMITH]
3. Set Load condition by typing or put load term comp on the smithchart
4. select RLC/transmission line component and drag mouse to wanted position
5. check component name on the top right side
6. update the circuit (button on the bottom side)

that's it.

however this one is only for crude estimation or educational purpose, i think.

Thanks for your contribution,

But i saw something in Smth Chart tool and i dont know how to use it, somthing called automatic matching, or something like that, how can i use it? i can use discrete element to move on smith chart as you mentioned, but i want to konw about automatic matching,

Thanks
