Differential Amplifiers

Hi! Does anyone know how a differential amplifier is designed? I am writing a paper, but this is a difficult topic. I understand that a diff. amp eliminates noise, but I'm still not clear. Or to be more specific how is a BJT used in a differential amplifier. Can someone help??

Differential Amplifiers
