linoko,

what program to open DDB file???

rpm meter project

can you give more detail on the project so that i can make up my mind before experimenting

Hi friends,
My project is rotation per minute meter, it will be helpful to all that don't have a tachometer on the instrumental board in your car.

To rx5 the DDB file you will open it with PROTEL 99.

here is the scheme of connection of my device to my old Renault 19 chamade car

Hi linoko,

can you convert the Protel scheme file into image file(bmp, jpg, gif, etc) or pdf??

I do not have protel program

i have one question this rpm meter must be connect to which part?
can you give me clear view for this application

thanks

to ayammore:
Hi you may connect this RPM meter to any car. The place where you must connect is ignition coil see picture on top. Different cars have different ignition coils and you may find the place on your coil from where is output of tachosignal /tacho-implulses/ and connect RPM there.

Wow thank you bro. I hv to check this out. :D

rpm meter

Hi,

An interesting application will be to adapt it for both petrol & diesel cars. Since there is no ignition coil in a diesel engine, maybe the alternator can be a source for the input pulses. Since the alternator is used in both petrol & diesel vehicles, a common design can serve both.

cheers

Hi,
Can I get ur files.asm for digital RPM meter

8051 based rpm meter

Hi

I want to RPM meter for my step motor but i have no tacometer how i can adapt my system. At the other hand i have TTL output but if i connect to TTL output to tacho input directly, the LCD shows 0 rpm.

rpm meter using ttl ic

what is the best method to measure RMP, through a single sensor.
if we try to wait for one minut and count pulse, then it will show good accuracy but to late response.
or if we count for chorter time say five second and then multiply the couted pulses by 12, this will increase error.

so any one have other solution of this problem?

any algorithm??

help will be highly appriciated.

pic based rpm meter

Here is a similar project kit from "www.united77.com/projects.htm" designed with Atmel 89C2051 as the heart of the circuit. The Microcontroller based Tacho meter is an easy-to-make photoelectric based tachometer project for measuring the RPM (revolution per minute) of rotating shaft, shop-floor tools and many household machines without any mechanical or electrical interface. The circuit employs AT89C2051 microcontroller as the main controller. Some of the major components used in the circuit are CA3140 operational amplifier, ULN2003 current buffer and KLQ564 4-digit, 7-segment display. Good luck.
