i have just joined a newly established ic design house as a test engineer to test their analogue ic designs. i have seen the designers work and am interested in learning analogue ic design.
my designers here are very young and unable to privide me with a proper learning guide. i have downloaded behzad's razali's book on ic design and been told to start with cmos technology.
i am wondering what freeware softwares are the best to be used to start learning and if anyone can provide me with a better guideline.
hope some one can spend about 5 minutes typing down, his or her professional advice for a new grad in the field of electronics like me.

I think u should start with circuit analysis then mos.
Sedra smith is really good for analog design for beginners.
then u can go to razavi, grey and meyar.
It gives the basic ingredients necesarry for analog design
All the best

Hi,
As for software, U can download Simetrix simulator if u want to build some basic blocks to get a feel of analog design. The demo version of the simulator is available for free on the net.

Pspice is good

For the books, I'd rather start with Sedra/Smith, then go on to Gray/Meyer. Razavi's one is good for CMOS design.

hspice is not freeware software.................

U CAN USE THE DEMO VERSION OF TANNER FOR THE LEARNING PROCESS WHICH U CAN DOWNLOAD FROM THEIR WEBSITE ITSELF. www.tannereda.com

learning in this society on more time

Get started with Analog Design by Behzad Razavi and Sedra & Smith. Keep following this forum in the Analog Circuit Design, Analog IC Design & Layout which you will learn many things on IC design from the beginners until the experienced people. Good Luck.
