Hi there,
I was about to start a new project with a PowerPC 5553. I'm looking for a RTOS because it is a real-time multi-tasking system. Some commercial rtos I've seen are really too expensive!!! I can't afford to pay some 10,000 $ per year just for the licence!

Any suggestions? Any cheaper solutions even with less features are welcome.

Thanks.

You can use RTLinux and eCOS RTOS,they are free and open source, you can also check freeRTOS.org

I$ it $o expen$ive?

Commersal RTOS is very expensive indeed. But you can get some info about RealTime Linux to help you make dicision.

You can use the VxWorks/Nucleus/ThreadX/QNX, and HardHat Linux.

And you can use the Linux + RTAI, just free.
