I need to use the BSIM3 model files provided by SMIC (Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation) for my circuit simulations in Agilent's ads( Advanced Design System) Simulator.

How Do I link/attach this to the BSIM model in ADS? Could anyone please help me with this?

thanks.

Re: how to link model files in ADS

to attach the model file
in data items menu use netlist include icon
place it in the schematic and make it point to the model

in the tarnsistor model , jus rename the modle with the modle in the card

enjoy

Where is this data items menu, Is it in schematic window main menu ??

another thing is can we not add the entire smic library in ADS ?

thanks a lot. appreciate your help.

Added after 1 hours 16 minutes:

Ok. I got the Netlist include icon. thanks for that. But I am getting some error while attaching the model files. I need to check netlist.log to find out what files are missing.

HOW DO I DO THAT ( HOW DO I OPEN NETLIST.LOG ) ?

the model must be in @DS format to be able to call the model

in the schematic window , in file drop down menu u can find netlist conversion tool use it to convert the model into @DS fromat

then include it

Ok. I will try that, but just out of curiousity, how do I access netlist.log file ?
Does ADS produces any report files like cadence ?

u can access it in the schematic window , click on the dynamic link drop down menu
and click on top level netlist
it will give u the netlist.log file

wish this will help

I got the ADS SMIC PDK today and I installed it, so life is easy now. but I am curious as to when would this netlistInclude option be used as opposed to installing pdks.

Also, I remember 2 years back while in university, I imported HSPICE nmos MOSIS file without using NetlistInclude Icon ...don't remember how I did it that time. So the question is "Is it a must to use NetlistInclude ??"

hey is it possible to share PDK?

if possible then share it my friend.....
