Dear all,

I am building a project published in Elektor Magazine (SC analyser 2005, April 2005). I tried to program my PIC16F876-20/SP part using the EPIC-plus programmer and the free download Hex code from Elektor's website. I was unable to program the part. (I check my EPIC programmer by programming the same part with codes from my previous projects and it works OK.) I believe that the downloaded Hex code is for the PIC16F876A part. Am I wrong about this? If I am correct... Can the hex code for the 'A' part be modified for the non 'A' part?

Cheers

If the hex code is for a -a device and the comperators (that only exist in the -a device) are not used you could try to modify the fuse settings as the -a and normal devices are different (not by much check datasheets).

BUT if the internal comperators of the -a device are used your only chance is to get a -a processor ...

hope this helps and best regards
