basic concept of poles and zeros

Where can I found the concepts of poles and zeros in circuit analysis?
I want to find ebooks that have the details about them.or online web sites about them.

network analysis and synthesis by kuo ebook

You need a book on network analysis to fully understand poles and zeros. There are a few books here on the subject, just search for them.

I'll try to briefly explain them to you. In the time the domain, the poles of a transfer function H(s) determine the form of the response, i.e. exponential, sinusoidal, ramp, etc. (read up on Laplace transforms for more on this).

In the frequency domain, poles are often used to estimate the bandwidth of a circuit (dominant pole approximation). In general poles and zeros determine the frequency and phase response of a circuit (look up Bode plots for more on this).

Hope this helps, but remember, many books and alotta math are essential if you really want to understand this topic.

poles and zero

I've read something about it,but I do not understand it completely.
It's seem that the key is how to transform the transfer function into poles and zeros form and thus it's matter of math.
Is that right?
Could you tell me the book's title?

poles and zeros of a network analysis wikipedia

Hello xmli,
This book is one of the best to understand the concepts of poles and zeros:

Its called Network Analysis and Synthesis by Franklin F Kuo. It will clear the concepts such as how to visualise from the pole zero plot the kind of response you are going to get, and exactly how the poles and zeroes are used in bode plots to get the Magnitude and Phase responses of a steady state system. Also how they influence the transient response of the system.
It also has a very good coverage of network sysnthesis after you determine what kind of pole zero topology you need. Hope this will help u.

poles and zeros in circuit analysis

thx for aryajur

and to xmli, I think a fundamental analog circuit design book will help also if you do not have the time to go to every detail

zeros and poles transfer circuit

I think maybe too see the zeros and poles by some simulation tool is easy, but if you want to caculate them by hand,it's hard

determining type of network from poles and zeros

Although it's Published in 1976,it's really a good book.

Thank you very much.
