As we know, "wet" electrolytic caps are the kings of inrush and surge handling..the wetness of the dielectric clinches it...any dry polymer capacitor like Aluminium Polymer or Tantalum polymer, is horrendously bad at handling a daily inrush surge...they will go pop after a few months because dry polymer caps have dry dielectric which cannot handle surges...but their capacitance is enormous considering their size.....so they get zapped to heck by inrush because the current is huge into the big capacitance.
Why dont the dry polymer cap vendors do repetitive inrush testing and publish the results?
