Hi,
I will use PA driver stage in front of the full DPA to compensate for gain degradation. My question is, Should I consider the power consumption of the driver stage in the full DPA efficiency calculations and measurements? Thanks in advanced.

You have to take in consideration the driver power consumption from the moment that PAE (power added efficiency) is function of input power.

Thanks for your response. In my design i only consider the DE (drain efficiency) which is equal to Pout/Pdc(DC power cosumption). how to do with this?

You need to take into account the DC power consumption of the driver amplifier.

That means I will lose the efficiency that i have achieved during DPA design as an additional power consumption will be added to that one from DPA. Any suggestion regarding this issue?

PAE equation stated that if you have less input power (using a driver) the efficiency is higher. So this should compensate somehow the DC power consumption of the driver.
