Yes. Draw the wire any way you want with the routing tool. Name it anyway you want by changing its properties. No rocket science.

Well, I select "Add wire" and try to draw it, but I get an error "open edit route form to input net name". I do so and give an arbitrary name, but then I get another error saying "net name is invalid".

addNet is used to add a net for ECO purpose.

If you want to route a net manually, first select the net and shift+A ( add wire ).

Thank you, if I want to add a new output port to my layout (which is already designed), should I use ECO ?

Basically, I want to add a new output port with no routing..no cells..nothing and I will manually route it afterwards. How to do that ?
