hello everyone,

I bought a new DS1307 from the market including Crystal (32.76khz).

i connected ds1307 in bread board and given 5v when i tried to check the crystal frequency (Pin2) in Oscilloscope i couldn able to see 32.76khz i don know what's wrong with the circuit. i don think i made wrong circuit because its simple circuit have less connections:roll:

Anyone have faced this kind of problem with DS1307. need solution for this help me pls.....

Exactly what value do you read from your oscilloscope?? Its may be the tolerance of the crystal due to which there is a change in value ..

is the crystals body is grounded? may be it will help you.
do you checked the values from a microcontroller or any debuggers
if not do it and varify the RTC is working or not

hi ,

i got 50hz sine wave from the crystal 2 pin and know its not expected one... i don think its a because of crystal tolerance..

hi,

i dosent try with micro-controller i just connected RTC circuit in bread board and checked for crystal pin 2 it should generate 32.76khz rite?? how can i connect Ground for crystal body in bread board??? need to solder on crystal body???

No, take a jumper above the crystal and attach the jumber to the body of cryster firmly

hi,

It doesn't work out!!!!!!!!! i am frustrated i don know whats the problem i have tried with 5 new crystals,.........

Any software configuration required for starting the clock in RTC..
i don think its a issue of hardware...

Now my rtc is working i didin do any thing just downloaded the sample code fron site and tried and its updating the RTC data and time.. and sending to comport..

but Still value in oscillator 2 is 50hz.... is it rite or wrong??? expected is 32.76khz
