Hi,

I'm trying to find out what you would call this shaped LED.

Or if anyone might have an idea where I might find them.

You did not give dimensions, colour, visible or IR. See Panasonic LN222RPH as an example. Available from Digikey. E
 
Sorry for not giving dimensions..... and I was looking for red.

They're 2mm and I just found them on ebay.
