Hi All
who can help me?
i am trying to drive a Piezoelectric Transducer , but there are 2 question.
first, in many document i read, mentioned that for driving this transducer and for getting 120 watts power, we have to use high voltages about 400 volt, and my question is how we can use 400 volts for radiation resistance about 20 ohms??i thing one thing is wrong here, what is wrong????
2nd, in these documents mentioned that the frequency is changing because of changing impedance,is it necessary to use a frequency control circuit or we can drive the transducer without using this circuits???
please help me

> is it necessary to use a frequency control circuit or we can drive the transducer without using this circuits???
Yes, you must use special generator ...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXrWuhxXZR0
So you need to buy one or to build one.

thanks amigo
actually i wanna produce a system that drive an ultrasonic algae removal transducer
could you help me?plz

I guess, ultra-violet light will remove algae better than ultrasonic.

Ultrasonic Horn that is used on ultrasonic soldering process will give U idea about mechanical conversion of ultrasonic wave

using Magnetostrictive transducer.

thanks for your ideas
but this project is my bachlor thesis and i have to use ultrasonic in order to remove algae,do you have any oponion or idea or information for designing its circuit???
is it same as driving an ultrasonic cleaner transducer???
thanks again

Gracias Amigo
This file was about medicine application of the ultrasonic and i could not find any thing about my project
but thanks for helps
i will glad if any helps will be reached to me

wow
thanks
that was what i want
thanks

i saw them
thanks they were helpful
if you have any circuit desugn information about driving algae removal transducer plz help me

HI
I think I can be of some help to you if you gimme more details about your work
my question is how we can use 400 volts for radiation resistance about 20 ohms??i thing one thing is wrong here, what is wrong????

well, first of all its not 20ohms resistance, its a transducer, which converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. Just like a transformer which converts electrical energy into magnetic energy.
Towards your 2nd question, its not that freqency is changing because of changing impedance, its the other way around. These transducers operate in a very narrow range of frequency, and have a point where you achieve resonance between the transducer and frequency and hence conversion is most efficient. So when impedance of the transducer changes, your circuit should change the frequency of electrical signal (voltage) given to transducer.

thanks amigo
acctually i wanna make an algae removal system by using ultrasonic piezoelectric transducer driving, and in the cleaning Transducers datasheets i saw that the resonant resistance in lower than 25 ohms and i think this resistance is my load that i have to do my calculations according to this resistance and actualy means that if i wanna 120 watts power, by using the p=RI^2 =120w(and R=25 ohm), actually i should have I=sqrt(120/25)=2.19 A.
Is my calculating true?
if is not , please help me and explain to me, i confused,
do you know, how can i drive and algae removal ultrasonic transducer???
thank you

Well first of all transducers are not resistive loads, you must have read resonance impedance is 25 ohms. And your calculations are not currect, transducers dont just follow the ohm's law. At different frequency it draws different current. first of all you will need to find the operating frequency at which your transducer operates. To do that, you can perform a small test of frequency response, if you have the transducer already with you.
Then to drive the transducer, you can either make your own circuit or use an of the shelf generator. Your power requirements are pretty less, so I dont think you will need a big circuit.
may be you should post the datasheet of your transducer, that might bring you better help

thanks for your helps

could you say me that for this power(80 w)and frequency of 42 KHz ,how much voltage and current i need??????
could i use following circuit??
please see this

thanks

yeah you can use this circuit. But for better results I will suggest a few changes. This circuit is using push-pull topology for power transformer. Switches are directly connected to the mega. Instead its always a good idea to connect the mosfets with a mosfet driver. Moreover you'll need to add a few resistors to tune the circuit for proper operation.
U can take this circuit as the basic circuit and then do a few improvements.

thanks
where should this resistors you said place??
do you know what is LP-BS tecnology???(Light Power Bright signal)
what is that and how can i use this for my project???
does it have a Integerated circuit?

you can follow any standard mosfet driving circuit. Or check the schematic of a smps. Or you can follow this blog tahmidmc.blogspot.com/2013/01/using-high-low-side-driver-ir2110-with.html

ty amigo
do you know is it necessary to use PWM for controlling frequency of Algae control transducer???
