at89c51 kit

Hello

I am an ultra-newbie and I am currently learning to use AT98C51 with C Language programming and I need to get a suitable kit so I can download my codes in my chip before interfacing with my circuit board.

Any suggestion?

I look forward to hear from you

Kind regards

Maverickmax

I assume you meant 'programmer'. You can find free programmer (hardware + software) at the following site:

Hope it helps.

I have checked the website out and I am kind of confused with some of the information because ez52.hex need to be downloaded in the first chip of AT98C51 in order to write any programs to another AT98C51 on the 40-pin ZIF socket. So how earth can i download ez52.hex in chip if i don't have any programmer?

Better select newer 8051-based uC, for example AT89S8252 or AT89C51RD2. They are very cheap and can be easily programmed with simple wire connection from LPT or RS232 PC port.

update for at89c55

Good question. :)

You can consider Ace-X's idea if you could find those newer versions of 89x52 from ATMEL.

If you do not want to waste time to build and understand the hardware/software, you probably can buy a program at the cost of less than 50USD (including shipment). Pls visit here: https://www.futurlec.com/AtmelProg.shtml

I'm trying to find one that can program using parallel port. Will update later...

Here the links:

ATMEL 8051 Flash Based-Microcontroller Programmer DIY version 1.1
- schematic + software are provided
Following devices can be programmed:
AT89C51
AT89C52
AT89C55
Hardware: PC with Bi-directional 8-bits Parallel Port supporting ECP or EPP or PS/2 mode.
**broken link removed**

ATMEL 89 Series Flash Microcontroller Programmer Ver 3.1
- schematic + software are provided
The programmer software presently supports the following devices
AT89C51 AT89S51 AT89C1051U D87C51
AT89C52 AT89S52 AT89C2051 D87C52
AT89C55 AT89S53 AT89C4051
AT89C55WD AT89S8252
AT89C51RC
The programmer is interfaced with the PC parallel port and there is no special requirement for the PC parallel port.
