Hi all,

I'm trying to interface sim 300 gsm module using arduino mega 2560 by serial communication. But my module resets spontaneously.
I'm taking 12v supply from a regulator and dropping it to 4v using lm317. The voltage remains almost constant but it doesnt draw current.
The max current taken by the module is 130mA, that too during the reset.
Does anyone know why this happens. Is it due to the power supply or something else.

thanks in advance

anne

You might want to check if its really 4V. Also if the reset pin us pulled high. I am not sure if the LM317 configuration you made can deliver the 1.8A required (max)
You can try loading it and see if the power supply you designed is able to deliver. Alternatively you might want to use an external DC power supply. The problem I had with SIM300 was the power supply.

I read from one of the sites that the problem might be because sim is not registered to the network properly. Will that be the case? Can you suggest any solution for this.
