Hi all,

I plan to build this power supply:

https://www.eleccircuit.com/high-power-supply-regulater-0-30v-20a-by-lm338/

I'm going to add 4 more LM338 to decrease power on each item.

4 Heat sinks: Fisher SK 88 with 2 x 12V fans, and a dedicated power supply for LCD panel meters also.
Length: 250 mm
Height : 100 mm

Only 2 questions:

- can i replace 741 op amp with OP07 , and if yes, no resistor value changed, like R1 by example ?
- is there a better replacement item for 741 in this power supply?

Thanks a lot.

jm

Hello jm,

yes, you can use OP07 in this circuit, because you don't need an offset adjust.

Other an better replacements are TL071 or TL082. These are also compatible with the offset adjust. You don't need any changes in resistor values.

Hi Rainer,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Now i can draw with my favorite EDA soft, Kicad, the whole circuit.

If i wanted to use TL071 or TL082, i must add voltage offset circuit?

Regards.

Jm

PS: Don't be sorry for your English, I have same concern when i try to read items from Reichelt or Burklïn, with no english translation in a few datasheet!!!!!!

Hello Jm,

sorry, I see one typing error in my post. It must be TL081, not TL082. TL082 are two OP in one case.
TL082 is not pin compatible to TL071 or LM741.

You must not change or add something, because TL071 and TL081 are fully pin compatible to LM741.

Regards

Rainer
