hellow friends, I have genius g540 universal programmer, when i program avr atmega32 through this programmer it is not programmed shows error in " verify" some times it does all steps correctly but when read it it shows empty memory and also doesnt work on hardware circuit....means it is not programmed ....plz guide me what should i do ? what problem is expected ?

Hi Khan,

You can use serial programmer for avr atmega32. it will very easy to design and if you don't want to design it then you can get it @very cheap rate in market also. Don't use universal programmer as it support multiple hardware you can face this issue.
even you can search programming circuit in datasheet of controller as well.

Thanks

thanks so much....KAPILDDIT
BUT THE PROGRAMMER I M USING IS ALSO SERIAL ,CONNECTED TO PC USB PORT

Report your problem to this forum **broken link removed** in the PIC USB programmer section.

i design serial programmer it also doesnt work.....plz also tell me the setting of configuration and security bits in atmega32 in pony prog....thanking

I programmed a atmega 16L using genius programmer g540. This is based on my experience so i cannot provide any reference but to program a atmega chip place the chip reverse of how it is indicated on the programmer. Secondly to program the fuse bits ignore the names of the bits written in the fuse setting window, rather look at the hex code for high and low byte and set the corresponding bits. If anyone is interested do tell me i will upload the video of how to do it. :)
