Please let know that how to measure battery current while battery connected to car.

I want to make battery meter by using PIC.

Use Hall sensor, I dont suggest usage of shunt current resistor.

There is many applications, for now see this easy:

A1302 is replacement for obsolete UGN3503.

Please let me know how to make ferrite core?

Ferrite for Car ammeter project is descibed in given project link.

Ferrite for DMM adapter from first picture (ring) you can get from toroid inductors from PC PSU, and I made gap with thin grinder cutting disc.

Also you can buy fresh new ferrite core, its not expensive.

You can see some examples:

in this figar as shown no need hall sencer .
i'm right ?

Please let me know how to calibrate for 66.7 A to 66.7mV or any other?

The Current Clamp Adaptor Is calibrated using a 12V p ower supply, a 5m length of 0.5 mm enamelled copper
wire and an 1BC1 5W resistor. First, wind 100 turns of the ECW around the core and connect It to the 12V supply via the 18C1 resistor as shown In Flg.7. The current through the wire will be 12/18 = 0.667A and, as far as the clamp meter Is concerned, this Is effectively multiplied by 100 due to the number of turns on the core, All you have to do now Is adjust VRl for a reading of 66.7mV. And that's It the calibration Is complete! Note that If the power supply Is not exactly 12V, you can compensate for this by calibrating to a different reading, Tust measure the supply voltage, divide the value by 18 (to get the current) and multiply by 100 to obtain the calibration number, For example, If you are using a 13.8V supply, you will have to set VRl for a reading of 76,7mV on the meter (le, 13.8/18 x 100 = 76.7).
Once the calibration has been completed, the PC board can be attached to the case lid, It's held In place simply by slipping the lid over the switch and pot shafts and doing up the nuts.

You can see link from previous post.

try it

**broken link removed**

This current sensor is ok and also can be used in car, but requires hall sensor in circuit (current to flow through sensor, not like sensor A1302 or similar), which requires additional attention and cutting wires.

through hall sencer we can sence for ac current ?
any body can tell its price in India ?

Sahu, of course this is usually done.

2,5-5V Plus
2,5V is Zero
0-2,5V Minus

Check A1302 (replaces old UGN3503) its cheap, in my country around 0,5-0,6eur.

Dear tpetar,

Please let me know after calibration, the enamled wire will remove or not.?

Yes, remove wire from ferrite core. That wire is used only to make specific magnetic field which is readed by Hall sensor for calibration purposes.
