which resistor i use [hlp]

hi
I want to instance a 15k resistor in my schmatic and layout in cadence. I have these choices:
rm1, rm2, rm3, rm4, rm5, rmt, rnhpoly, rnhpoly_dis, rnlplus, rnlpoly, rnlpoly_dis, rnplus,rnwod, rnwell, rphpoly, rphpoly_dis, rphpoly_rf, rphripoly, rphripoly_dis, rphripoly_rf, rplplus, rplpoly, rplpoly_dis, rplpoly_rf, rpplus
which one must i use?!

Well, it all depends on what do you need.
If you would like minimum area then you must choose the one with the maximum resistance per square. (sheet resistance)
Do you need positive / negative / zero thermal coefficient?
And then there is noise and noise immunity.

You better check you PDK documentation.

P.S. rm1 - rmt are probably the resistivity of metals, so you definitely don't need that for a 15K resistor
 
Hi,

Please select the resistor depending upon
1. Resistance value
2. Noise immunity
3. isolation of nets
4. Voltage dividing
5. Current caring capability.
6. Thermal coefficient
Finlay, APPLICATION.

Please check with your requirement and select accordingly.

For ex:
15K --- Use POLY resistors -- rnpoly or rppoly which will give res value in less area

15k -- Use Nwell resistors -- rnwell or rpwell -- which will give in less area but it is more affect to NOISE.
