Hi all,

I am new to HFSS and and I am trying to develop the model of a stripline.
But when I try to set the boundary condition for the long side walls of the line as 'radiation' I could not find that option anywhere.
I tried by right clicking at a point in the white space and and looked in 'Assign Boundaries'...

I am using HFSS12.

Thank you

Have you created a separate air box simulating vacuum. Radiation boundary can be applied to the faces of the air box.

Thank you for your reply.

Sir, what if i suppose to simulate a model in vacuum itself? even then should i create an air box of finite dimension?
or is it sufficient to specify the boundary as radiation a the open end of the structure?

Yes! HFSS simulator does not automatically assign the model to exist in vacuum. One has to specify the model to exist in vacuum by drawing an air box of specified dimensions (preferably lambda/4).
