1)What are advantages of active filters over passive filters.

2)Design analog circuit that can generate square and square root of given analog signal of 1v and 100Hz.

1. The advantage of active filters is that one can provide amplification, and have a filter whose characteristic is independent of the load.

No it is not hw just two questions in of my semester papers I found difficult to find a satisfactory answer.
