Hi, i want to design a similar system of the audio output of a computer, i mean by the system regarding to the way that the audio is multiplexed through the speakers when there is no earphones plugged on the computer and when the earphones are connected to the computer, the audio only comes out through the earphones and not through the speakers, i would like some suggestions about it, about how could i design it to work in the same way, or at least how does that system work.

Welcome here, monimi !

An earphone connector usually has switch contacts inside. When there's no jack plug inserted, the contacts are closed, and audio signal passed onto the speaker output. When there's a jack plug (earphone) inserted, contacts go open and audio signal only gets to the earphone.

In this example you can see the switch contacts through the clear plastic on top (also check the datasheet linked there). Other earphone connectors will have different construction but same principle.

No electronic magic here, just mechanical switches... ;-)

Per RetroTechie's post, the headphone jack he linked to will do the job.

You'll find there are several types to choose from. So you'll avoid getting the wrong one:

You do not want the 2-conductor (mono) type. You want 3-conductor (stereo).

You do not want unswitched. You want switched.

And it's likely you don't want a 1/4 inch diameter plug, but a 1/8 inch size to go in a computer.
