if i wanna make a pic & place robot using atmega16 microcontroller , which motor should i use ?? servo,stepper or dc?? will it make any wrong if i use stepper to rotate & servo for gripe?? can anyone help me on this??
 

At places where precision of motion is needed, stepper motors are best suited, other places a motor of your choice can be used with a limit switch. Stepper motors from old 1.2 MB floppy drives are easy to procure. Where size or torque matters a motor of desired rating can be procured.
 
thank u ark5203 , u mean dc motors can be used to grape object??
can u tell me motors with 12V supply can hold how much weight??
i'v used stepper for rotating the robot arm & dc for gripe object, each of them r of 12V ,is it ok?? can dc motor hold objects tightly?? the robot i'v mentioned is for picking light object.

Yes, in demo robots, it is advisable and adopted practice to handle not too heavy objects or fragile objects like eggs.
With 12 V motors, it is the current that will determine the grip in addition to the nature of surface, slippery or otherwise. It you consider these points, trial and error will soon give you the right result you are looking for. Such small dc motors are easy to procure and handle in use.
