Hi,

Could anyone, who has the book "Microstrip Filters for RF/Microwave Applications" by JIA-SHENG HONG & M. J. LANCASTER

Explain me formula #5.2 & table #5.1 in this book? I can't understand, why guided wavelength λgc and λgl differs from λg0. What formulas is used to calculate guided wavelengths in 5.1 table?

Hope to get some help, because I'm really stuck on this. Thanks in advance!

He is using high Z lines for inductors and low Z lines for capacitors. Microstrip has air over dielectric;so fringing fields are partially in both with proportions that change with the width of the line. The effective dielectric constant and therefore phase velocity changes with microstrip line Z.

Thank you, edf!
Now i got it, its effective epsilon, which is width dependent!
