convergence ,passes,how to determine number of passes in solutions in hfss?

hi all
i want to learn basic concepts for hfss design and is meant by each step in designing this tutorial
so that i can design a microstrip patch antenna
can u give me a good tutorial of cst microwave studio with lot of examples of design of patch antenna

There are four different design's that are mentioned in the tutorial,and there are some errors as well that have to be fixed in this tutorial

coming to your question.convergence is The criteria of HFSS is based on S-parameter at the ports. S-parameter is the integration of field intensity on the port surface. So, S-parameter is considered convergent by the criteria we set up. Like a minimum of 0.02 0r 0.01.

you specify the number of passes,these are all user dependent values.how to determine the number of passes would say just go with the default,if they converge good enough if not enter a higher number of passes

The tutorial is from another website.check this out,it should give you a good understanding of the patch antenna design and more over you can also refer to the file that you have uploaded here.

Apart from this you can find example in the manual of HFSS.

Here is a tutorial about designing microstrip patch antenna in hfss.
I used it and simulated the patch.It may be useful to you.

Do you want tutorials on HFSS or CST? They are different products from different companies.
